Hola everybody! 🙂 TGIF! I am here today with another outfit post! With Diwali right around the corner, I got requests from readers asking me to do more traditional OOTDs! As much as I like dressing up in western clothing like dresses and palazzos, I absolutely love and enjoy wearing traditional Indian attires and saree is one thing that tops my list amongst other Indian clothing. So without any further ado, let’s get into How To Style Red Saree for a glamorous Diwali season!

OUTFIT DETAILS FOR THE RED SAREE OOTD-

For this outfit, I wore a gorgeous bright red designer saree with embellishments that I got from a local boutique in Chennai. The fabric of this saree beautifully accentuates the curves while the scattered work in the front doesn’t look over the top. The highlight of this saree is the pallu as it is heavily embellished with beads and zardosi which is perfect for festivities like Diwali. To adorn the saree, I ditched the blouse I got for this saree and matched it with a heavily embellished blouse I got from Ethinicity a while back and it matched beautifully.

For accessories, I opted for gold based jewellery like this simple pair of mango designed earrings, matching necklace and princess cut stone bangles. To complete the look, I opted for a pair of embellished golden wedges from Shuz.

MAKEUP & HAIR BREAKDOWN FOR THE RED SAREE OOTD-

Face Makeup-

For makeup, I first primed my skin and applied a full coverage matte base that I’m absolutely in love with. To set the face, I used a light setting powder. To add dimension back to the face, I lightly contoured and applied a light layer of matte pink blush. I also highlighted the tops of my cheekbones with a shimmery pale pink highlighter which didn’t show up very well. Coming to the eyes, I applied a bronzy gold from the palette and for the outer V applied a matte black. As this is a festival makeup, I topped it off with a glittery top coat for the eyes. I lined my eyes using the same matte black eyeshadow. I also smoked out my lower lash line using the same black. To open up my small eyes, I added couple of coats of mascara. Finally to complete the makeup look, I applied a beautiful pinky red lip liner for that fresh bitten look that stays all day.
