So my friend was going apartment hunting and as a good friend as I am, I tagged along just to see the location and facilities. When I think of buying an apartment, I have a kind of checklist in mind of how it should be. I want to be in an apartment that has a good design and layout. From my apartment terrace or my balcony, I want to sit down with my evening tea and feel a nice breeze without the sound of traffic. I want to travel to and fro work easily and want peace, quiet, a nice sunset, a little bit of greenery at the end of the day. Most of all I want to be in an apartment that has a sense of community. I want to a garden or play area right next to the building so I can go for walks, watch the kids play basketball and not have to worry about sending them to another place just so they can have fun with their friends.
We went to Aurum Happiness Towers by Pacifica, an exquisite gated community in OMR, Chennai. The first thing I noticed is the Podium which has a basketball court and green space and also acts as a roof to the car park. This Podium is the first ever in Chennai which was a pleasant surprise from the developers. The lush greenery that surrounds the towers was a sight for sore eyes for me after dwelling in the concrete jungle for the past 25+ years.
If you are someone without a green thumb like me then you can enjoy the fruits without any physical labour of taking care of the plants. What I loved about the podium was that it was connect to the Happiness Towers directly from the first floor. I could see the kids from the towers converging on the podium and having fun in the evening. It is nice to see a sense of community within towers because of the podium and there was even a spot on it for small events to be held.
Moving from the podium to the apartment, we were looking at an apartment on the 7th floor and what I like most about Aurum Happiness Towers is the ventilation. The hall had a sliding door to the balcony and when opened, the entire place was cool and breezy which is exactly what I would want in an apartment.
The apartments are built to suit the needs of this millennial generation. The layout is well planned by that I mean not only the apartments but also the covered car park, play area, entrances to the road leading to the towers from the main road. And for those who are thinking about power cuts, the backup power will last for around a week which is more than what would required.
It is a great place to start a family because not only the apartments are impeccable but the common infrastructure has been planned in such a way that it encourages community building & sharing of cultures & values all this while maintaining your privacy as well.
See you in my next post. Until then, stay beautiful.
