Today’s review is going to be on the Colorbar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup. I’m not very experimental when it comes to foundations as I tend to stick with the ones that work for me like the MAC Studio Fix Fluid and the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation but for a change I thought I’ll try some other brand like the homegrown one Colorbar. So how does the Colorbar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup fare out?
What The Company Claims?
An oil free formulation that gives the skin a clean matte finish; easy to apply and stays on all day. With SPF 15, it protects the skin and keeps it looking radiant and fresh. Time Plus Make Up Base is available for all skin tone.
How Did Work The Colorbar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup For Me?
The Colorbar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup comes in a matte beige squeeze tube that is both sturdy and travel friendly. I prefer this type of packaging as this squeeze tube can be carried anywhere without worry of it breaking like a plastic or glass bottle and leaking all over in case of a mishap. I was really disappointed with the number of shades available; 4. That’s right, only 4 shades for all of us to choose from. Most of us aren’t the exact or even close to the shades that they provide (including me) which very annoying. All the 4 shades have a strong pink undertone upon blending which looks horrible on Indian skin tones. Colorbar being an Indian brand should cater to brown skin tones but the shade selection in this range is beyond awful. Coming to the actual product, the Colorbar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup base is thin in consistency and has a generic foundation fragrance. I’ve tried applying it several ways as the consistency of this product is very thin. Using a damp sponge or a flat top kabuki brush only wastes the product as they tend to absorb most of it but using a flat foundation, small stippling brush or even just fingers made the application quite easier.
Whichever way I applied it, the Colorbar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup provided only a very sheer coverage which means only those with near perfect skin can use this as the product will not be able to cover any imperfections. On the plus side, it does help in evening out the skin and has to be set with powder. Once set the base feels light but on the downside it stays on only for around 3 hours. To make matters worse, the makeup base comes with SPF15 sunscreen which normally I would have liked but in this case it leaves a whitish cast. Overall, the Colorbar Time Plus Pro Long Stay Makeup is one of the foundations that I would recommend you to avoid. Instead, try out the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation which I absolutely love. They have a better shade selection and even decent coverage at more or less the same price.
