Recently I met a reader of my blog who told me that in all of my OOTDs, I use high end products and it would cost a bomb for everyone to replicate. She then asked me to do a makeup for under 2000 INR which when I was planning my next OOTD, I took up as a challenge. After checking my vanity closet and not finding the a combo of products under the given budget, I decided it was time to do some quick shopping. The closest mall was the Forum Vijaya Mall and as soon as I reached, I headed to the makeup section of the Lifestyle Store. After checking out the different brands and products, I finalized my list and bought them. So now let’s see what I did for the makeup.

As I was going to be wearing the makeup for my OOTD photoshoot, I wore primer, foundation and concealer but you can generally skip this step if you want. So I got the recently launched Maybelline V Face Blush Contour in the Pink variant. This single product has 3 different powders pressed together in a single pan. You get a glittery highlighter, matte blush and a matte contour shade. To enhance my cheekbones, I picked the contour shade using my NARS Ita Brush and it subtly contours the face. For blush I applied the matte pink blush on the apples of my cheeks. I gave a go with the highlighter but for my skintone it didn’t show up very well.

For eyeshadow, I got the Maybelline Color Sensational Topaz Gold Eye Palette. While there are 3 other variants, I chose this because it has variations of gold and bronze and is perfect for any Indian festivals. I opted to use my Kryolan 14 Brush instead of the foam applicator it came with. For the lid color, I applied the center bronzy gold from the palette and for the outer V applied the matte black. As this is a festival makeup, I topped it off with a glittery top coat for the eyes. I then lined my eyes using the same matte black eyeshadow using an angled liner brush. I also smoked out my lower lash line using the same black. To open up my small eyes, I added a couple of coats of the Maybelline Hypercurl Volum’ Express Mascara which added tons of volume and length to my natural lashes. Since I was going for a fun festive look, I opted for a bright pout so I applied the Maybelline Color Sensational Hollywood Red Lip Liner for that fresh bitten look that stays all day.
