Want to grow strong and healthy nails and keep them that way? Want to stop your nails from splitting or breaking when you are trying to grow them out for that perfect French manicure? Here, we share our top 5 tips to get the best results within a month.

Avoid using acetone-

When removing nail polish, don’t use 100% acetone nail polish remover because it decreases the nail strength and leaves them open to damage by drying them out. Put a couple of coats of clear coat underneath your colored polish. So instead of chipping a little bit at a time, your nail polish will peel off on its own.

Take B vitamins for strong nails-

Vitamins help strengthen the nail. Nails are made up of keratin which require vitamin B to keep it strong and not become brittle. Taking a daily dose of vitamin B can go a long way to help strengthen them. You can easily get them at your local drugstore as Biotin. If you take it regularly, you will see a difference by the end of the first month. Biotin also helps hair growth so that is also a plus point.

Skip the quick-drying nail polish-

Most quick-drying polishes contain more alcohol and formaldehyde than regular polishes, and these chemicals can dry and split your nails. The best method to fast-dry your nails is by freezing them. Dump a tray of ice cubes into a bowl and then add just enough water to cover them. Dip your wet nails into the cold water for a minute or two after each coat.

Don’t bite your nails-

Biting your nails may be a compulsive habit, but they will prevent your nails from gaining any length at all. If you are unable to stop yourself from nibbling your nails, consider painting your nails regularly, or mixing habanero pepper extract into a clear nail polish; the taste of either the regular nail polish or the spice in the clear polish will likely stop you from nibbling.

Never cut your cuticles-

Never ever cut your cuticles. The thin sliver forms a shield for the gap between the nail and the skin and cutting them will open the skin for infection. Instead of cutting them, you can push your cuticles back and even go over them quickly with the soft side of a nail file if they are particularly overgrown. The best way to push them is to first soak your hand in warm water. This will make the skin soft and will make pushing back the cuticles easier.

    I never grow my nails….These tips will help my nails in some way..mine is not strong at all..i tried sally hansen strengthng stuffs…for nails..nothign worked…doctors say i hv calcium deficiency..ehehhe 😛 I so wish I had nails like the first pic!!! <3
