Today’s review is going to be the MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot. Being a WOC and someone who also loves makeup it is quite difficult to make the colors that you like pop on the eyelids. Even if you apply an eye primer some colors just refuse to show up. If I try to neutralize it with foundation or concealer it creases like crazy making me look like a hot mess. I was longing to try the paints pots from MAC but their prices in India couldn’t get anymore ridiculous. So during my trip to the US I immediately ordered one of these from their website and it was the best decision ever. Without any further ramblings let’s jump into the review of MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot!

What The Company Claims?

MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot is described as a nude beige color.

A highly pigmented, long-wearing eye shadow that goes on creamy and dries to an intense, vibrant finish. The innovative second skin-like formula blends smoothly over lids and creates seamless, buildable coverage without looking heavy or cakey. How Did MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot Work For Me?

The MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot comes in a simple but very sturdy glass jar packaging with a black screw on lid. The packaging is compact and travel friendly, the glass jar is thick and heavy which I prefer to that of any flimsy packagings. You get 5g of product which will probably last forever as you will only need a tiny bit every time.

The MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot that I got was in Painterly which is a beigey nude shade. I apply it either by using my fingers or using a small flat eyeshadow brush. With these, you can apply very lightly to get a sheer coverage but if you want an opaque coverage, then just add another layer to build the coverage. Unlike some of the other cream shadows I have tried to layer up, the MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot does not cake up or crease and gives a very natural finish.

Once applied, the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot not only stays on for a really long time but is also waterproof. When I apply other eyeshadows over this, it actually intensifies the colors and makes the eye makeup much more vibrant looking. Overall, the MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot is a great product as a cream shadow and as an eye primer to layer other shadows on top. If you are not ready to spend a ton of cash on a cream shadow then the best dupe for the MAC Pro Longwear Painterly Paint Pot is the Maybelline Creamy Beige Color Tattoo.

I’ve never tried any paint pots from MAC. Is this a good one to start with?

I got this mainly to layer other colors on top. But if you are looking to try cream shadows from MAC then try Indianwood, Rubenesque, Constructivist or Groundwork. These are all pretty colors for Indian skin tones.

Mac paint pot in Painterly works as an amazing eyeshadow primer. I always use to make the eye shadows look more intense on my eyelids. It is expensive but a single pan goes a long way so it is totally worth it.
