Hello there my wonderful people! This week I am back with another basic look that looks elevated with the help of accessories and makeup. If you ever catch me outside I’ll be 100% wearing comfortable sneakers and something as basic as this. Other than for events or shoots I hate wearing over the top outfits and heels. It doesn’t vibe with me and it definitely is not practical in the Chennai heat. I just realized when typing this post that most of the pieces are from HM & Forever21. I loved their new collections and went a little overboard shopping this time but c’mon it’ll be all worth it! I have consciously started buying more pieces which could be styled with a bunch of other stuff in my closet. So without any further ado, let’s get into how I styled this Red Button Down Plaid Dress & Simple White Tee!

OUTFIT DETAILS-

I first started with this cute Red Button Down Plaid Dress. It has a wide V-neck so I decided to wear a White Crew Neck Tee underneath the dress for a light layer. I wanted the look to be as cute as possible that means showing skin in the right places. For shoes, I went with my brand new pair of White Mesh Trainers with chunky soles. For accessories, I opted for a pair of Brown Round Sunglasses and rose gold toned jewelry like this pair of oversized Rose Gold Hoops, dainty Opal Rings, a V-Necklace and a cute Cuff.

MAKEUP & HAIR DETAILS-

Makeup Breakdown

For makeup, to start, I first applied a serum and moisturizer on my skin so the base products would go on smoothly. After 10 minutes or so, I went onto apply a thin layer of sunscreen to protect my skin from the harmful UV rays of being outdoors. Once that was set, I used a little bit of concealer to cover any imperfections and set it with some powder foundation. I also lightly highlighted and contoured my face and jaw to sculpt and add back some dimension. I dusted a matte apricot blush for a flush on the cheeks. For the eyebrows, I went in with an eyebrow powder and lightly filled them in to frame my face better. For the eyes, I did a simple bronzy eye look. I then used a mascara to bring my lashes back to life and to make my eyes look awake. I set my entire face with a long lasting setting spray because the humidity could start melting my makeup. For the lips, I applied an electric orangey-red lipstick which added a bright pop of color and pulled the look together.
