What does the company claim?

This is your salvation to get perfect matte lips that are touch proof. A long-lasting lip gloss that goes on as a liquid and dries to a highly pigmented, bold matte finish which stays in place for hours!

How did Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquers work for me?

I do enjoy sporting glossy pouts every now and then but I love matte lipsticks and I’m most comfortable when I’m wearing a matte lip color because no one got time for regular touch-ups girl. I always wanted to try the Limecrime Velvetines but the price tag and scandal threw me off. So, when I was busy hoarding some eye shadow palettes from the brand I saw these bad boys and they immediately lured me. I got two of them one in a light pink shade and the other one in a bright red who wouldn’t like a good red. Right? I got them on Monday and immediately I tried them on to see if they live up to their claims and right on they do.
Right off the bat you could tell the lacquers are of good quality. They come in rose-gold coloured boxes. And the actual product comes in a see-through regular gloss tube with a black cap to which the doe-foot applicator is attached. The massive rose-gold graphics on the gloss tube makes it look really chic. The packaging looks sleek and sturdy. They go on really smooth on the lips and one good swipe is all you need for opaque coverage. Don’t try to pack on another coat or it’ll start to cake up and crack. If you want the long-lasting effect but don’t like the matte feel try applying a clear gloss on top which improves the feel on the lips. After 4 or 5 hours it kinda wears off on the insides of the mouth and looks very weird so a clear lip gloss would really come in handy when you apply this.

I’m so liking this red shade. The pink one is not for me.

Do get it because that red instantly brightens up the complexion and for the pink it is too neon and pale for my skin-tone so I’m experimenting with different shades from my stash.
