Today’s review is going to be the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Face primer is something I cannot work without even if I’m doing a light makeup look that doesn’t involve liquid foundation. Being an oily skinned gal, silicone based primers are the only ones that work on me. I got this primer because it had the highest rating in the Sephora website. How Did Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Work For Me?
The Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer comes in a sleek transparent plastic squeeze tube packaging with black lid and graphics. The packaging is quite sturdy and easy to travel with. Like all Smashbox products the primer is also cruelty free; it is also free of parabens and phthalates which is great. The primer is silicone based and is clear which helps in retaining the actual base color without altering it in anyway. You will need only a teensy bit every time to cover the entire face. I like to work it with my fingers as the warmth helps in melting the product and apply the thinnest layer that a brush or sponge cannot.
The Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer helps my foundation or concealer apply much smoother and they stay put all day without smudging or creasing. As it is oil free, it also helps with controlling shine throughout the course of the day and the primer helps blur out the pores and fills in fine lines and wrinkles while magically smoothing out the entire skin texture. For all the times I have tried this it has never broken me out. If the price tag bothers you then a fairly similar dupe to the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer would be the ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer, Kryolan Perfect Matt Primer. Another similar face primer around the same price tag is the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer. Overall, if you are looking for the best high end face primer then the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is the one I would absolutely recommend!
