You spend an hour or so beating your face in the morning to perfection and the minute you step out of the house the rain spoils your masterpiece. To avoid this from happening is exactly why you need to waterproof your makeup. The last thing you want is mascara running down your cheeks even before you step into the office.
Less Is More-
Yes I said it ‘Less Is More’ not only during monsoon but also most days because one your skin needs to breathe. Second the less makeup you apply the better it adheres to the skin without it looking cakey. If you go all out from applying a full coverage foundation to double concealing it will crease and settle into the fine lines in an hour or two also when the water touches it is going to look awful.
Use Longwearing Makeup-
Choose your products wisely opt for the ones that stay on for long hours without budging like the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation, MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. These are my absolute holy grails and don’t cake up on my skin. I love to bake under my eyes using the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder.
Opt For Waterproof Products-
Waterproof products like mascara, eyeliners, blushes and even bronzers are a life saviour. They stay put even when they come in contact with water which is absolutely phenomenal. My favorite waterproof mascara is the L’Oreal Carbon Black waterproof variant.
Ditch The Usual Lipsticks or Gloss-
This is the time to ditch your bullet lipsticks and glosses. Opt for long wearing lip products like a good liquid lipstick that will stay on which requires zero to minimal touch ups. I love ColourPop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks they’re not overly drying as the matte ones but has amazing staying power.
Finish Off With A Good Setting Spray-
Yes this is the most crucial step in the game. Never ever leave without applying a good setting spray. It not only helps with the longevity of the makeup but it also helps with making it look skin like. My favorite is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
