Being a makeup artist I have to keep myself up to date with what’s trending in the makeup industry. Be it both products and also makeup trends. Most makeup trends are short lived but except the few ones like bold brows and blinding highlighters. With the highlighting fad going ever so strong makeup companies everyday come with new highlighters to stay in the game. I have tried several of them but today I’m going to list my top 5 highlighters.
Wet N Wild Reserve Your Cabana (0.46 oz, $3.99)-
This is the most subtle and natural looking highlighter in the list before we go onto the other more intense ones. Also the most affordable; If you are someone who does not want to spend a lot of money on a single highlighter then this one is the best one you could find. The only thing I was bummed about when I first got this was it was advertised as a bronzer. Even for the palest of the complexion won’t be able to wear this as a bronzer because it is too light. Wet N Wild Reserve Your Cabana is a finely milled, champagne colored pressed powder that could be used as an all over face powder or only on the highest points of the face for a subtle glow.
Makeup Revolution Goddess Of Love Highlighter (0.35 oz, $7.00)-
The next one is slightly expensive than the Wet N Wild one. Makeup Revolution London makes makeup products that have uncanny resemblances to that of the expensive brands like Too Faced, Urban Decay, MAC, Kat Von D and many others. The Goddess Of Love Highlighter holds an exact resemblance to that of the Too Faced Sweethearts collection. This heart shaped baked highlighter comes in a huge quantity and you will need only a teensy tiny bit each time. The baked highlighter is finely milled and is golden champagne in color with a greenish gold sheen to it. It doesn’t have any chunky shimmers but adds oodles of radiance and glow from within look.

The finely milled powder in light champagne color that looks universally flattering from the palest skin tone to the deepest of the complexions. Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit (4*0.26 oz, $40.00)-
If you are someone who wants different highlighter shades without spending $$$ on them then the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit will be a pretty sweet deal. Anastasia Beverly Hills as we all know makes top-notch makeup so these are no different. They comes in several different variants and my favorite has to be ‘That Glow’ kit. These again can be built-up from subtle to intense highlighters. There are 4 different shades in this Glow Kit and you can apply them separately or mix them to create a new shade altogether. Colourpop Butterfly Beach Super Shock Cheek (0.15 oz, $8.00)-
Powders can sometimes look patchy and apply uneven on dry skin that is when the cream to powder formula comes in handy. Colourpop has their trademark mousse to powder texture that feels and applies like a cream on the skin. Colourpop Butterfly Beach Super Shock Cheek is a gorgeous champagne gold color that look absolutely stunning on top of makeup or even alone. These apply best with fingers or with a damp Beauty Blender. It does give you a decent play time to blend it out before it dries down. These highlighters are a great way to fake the no makeup makeup look.
