Today’s review is going to be the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. Having extremely oily skin and wearing makeup doesn’t go hand in hand because the liquids and creams slip and slide off of the face which is really annoying. I was on the lookout for a good translucent powder that would set my makeup and also smooth out the complexion that is when I got this. So how did the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder fare out for me?

What The Company Claims?
With multiple major awards and counting, Laura Mercier’s “best in beauty”, cult-favorite bestseller is your go-to setting powder. Loose powder feels luxuriously dense in the jar, feels incredibly soft and silky-light on your skin. Pros love the super smooth application: goes on evenly, blends effortlessly, provides great wear. How Did The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Work For Me?
The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder comes in a chic tub packaging that is very sturdy. The sifter in the tub prevents the powder from getting wasted every time I open it. To control the amount of product I kept the adhesive layer that was on the sifter and opened only couple of holes. The full size contains 29 grams of product and it retails for $38. The powder itself is finely milled, very soft, silky and velvety to touch. It is suitable for normal to oily skin types as it gives a modern matte finish which isn’t a flat matte finish but more like a demi-matte finish which I’m really fond of. It doesn’t have any distinct fragrance to it.

I use the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to set my all over face makeup from budging or creasing. I love to use this powder to bake my face especially my under eyes as they tend to crease after a while but with this it stays put all day. I do get shiny mid-day so I touch it up with a sheer layer of this again to keep it shine free. I use it to tone down my blush or sharpen my contour or eyeshadows with a heavy layer of this and it works like a charm. But don’t overdo it also be sure to dust off any excess powder to avoid the whitish cast. It doesn’t alter my base color or make me look white/grey under any lighting which is great as most powders tend to do that on medium olive skin tones.

Overall, if you are looking for a good high end loose setting powder then the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is one I would absolutely recommend! But if you are on a budget then I would recommend you to try the Coty Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage Loose Face Powder or the RCMA No Colour Powder as they are the best and affordable dupes for the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder.
