Today’s review is going to be on the Beauty Blender Original. I already own the Beauty Blender Pro version so I wanted to try the hot pink original one that’s why I got this. Let’s see how the Beauty Blender Original fare out.
What The Company Claims?
The world’s first edgeless, non-disposable, high-definition cosmetic sponge applicator. The unique shape and exclusive material available only with Beauty Blender ensures impeccable, streak-free application with minimum product waste. Use it with primers, foundations, powders, cream blushes, and any other complexion product.
Handcrafted in the USA.
How Is The Beauty Blender Original?
The Original Beauty Blender comes in a plastic canister which stops the sponge from tearing apart during transit. The original sponge has a perfect egg shape with a pointy edge and is hot pink in color. When it is completely dry it is very small but once I saturate it with water, it grows twice its size. Once you squeeze out the water it becomes super soft but still retains its shape and size. The Beauty Blender sponges are latex free and also fragrance free so they can be used even on acne-prone or sensitive skin.
How To Use Beauty Blender?
The best way to use the Beauty Blender is to soak it under water until it bloats and squeeze out the excess water. Make sure the Beauty Blender is just damp and not wet you can also use a tissue or towel to remove the excess water out. The Beauty Blender can be used to apply liquids, creams, mousse and powders.
For liquid or cream foundations I dot the product using my fingers all over the face and neck and blend it using the Beauty Blender Original. For the larger perimeter of the face I use the rounded side and under the eyes and around the nose I use the pointy edge. The best way to blend the product is to dab and stipple it in. This movement in no way sheers out the product or take away the coverage. The Beauty Blender Original doesn’t drink up as much product as the other latex sponges available in the market. But at the same time if you apply excess product the beauty blender absorbs and prevents it from creasing later on.
How Did The Beauty Blender Original Work For Me?
Before I got my hands on the Beauty Blender sponges I had been using my makeup brushes when using liquid foundations and concealers. The end result was usually far from perfect with streaky foundation and cakey concealers. But when I use the Beauty Blender Original, the finish is amazing and I’m left with zero streaks. You can check out the video below to see me apply foundation using the Beauty Blender.
I also use it for applying powders to set my face and it works wonderfully. When I ordered this online I was kind of skeptical for a sponge that cost 20$ but once I used it I was blown away by the results. The only downside is that you need to replace them every few months or if they grow mouldy. Overall, Beauty Blender is one of the best tool to apply face makeup and to get an airbrushed finish.
How To Clean The Beauty Blender Original?
It is super easy to clean the beauty blender you can buy their blender cleanser solid which I like or soak the dirty sponge in normal shampoo diluted with water and rinse the product out. Air dry the sponge for next use.
