Hola everybody! Hope you had a wonderful week! 🙂 A button-down plaid shirt is one of the easiest piece of clothing to style. You can basically mix and match it with anything from jeans to skirts and it’ll look uber chic and stylish. Also, you can play it up by accessorizing differently. Red plaid shirts are too boring so I put together this outfit with a pink plaid shirt with lace detailings instead which is very feminine and elegant. Let’s get into the Styling Button-Down Plaid Shirt & Top Knot OOTD, shall we?

OUTFIT DETAILS FOR STYLING BUTTON-DOWN PLAID SHIRT & TOP KNOT OOTD-

For the outfit, I went with a chic pink button-down plaid shirt with lace detailings on the back. The fabric is very light making it perfect to wear during the hot weather but you can layer a vest or jacket to make it work during colder months. I paired the shirt with a pair of dark blue skinny jeans which keeps the casual quotient going.

For shoes, I had to flaunt my brand new Adidas Neo shoes that I got recently. They are super comfortable to wear all day and if you are on a casual day out, you don’t want to be in heels which could start to hurt the feet in a couple of hours. I kept the accessories to a minimum by just opting for a dainty necklace, a pair of earrings, rings and a gunmetal watch. To complete the look I wore this beautiful oversized mirrored sunglasses. On my nails, I painted them with a gorgeous pinky nude shade which was quite subtle and muted.

MAKEUP & HAIR BREAKDOWN FOR THE STYLING BUTTON-DOWN PLAID SHIRT & TOP KNOT OOTD-

Face Makeup-

First, I moisturized and primed my skin to prep it for makeup. I skipped wearing any liquid or cream foundations and concealed just the under eye circles using a combination of 2 of my favorite concealers. I then set my face with a powder foundation that killed the shine and added some coverage to my bare face. I lightly contoured and highlighted my face and added some color back to the face by applying a light wash of pink blush to the cheeks. I highlighted the tops of my cheekbones using a cream to powder highlighter for that healthy glow. To frame my face better, I filled in my eyebrows that matched my natural eyebrow color.

For the eyes, I first applied a medium matte brown shade as a transition color on my crease. Then applied a duo chrome pinky peach color on the lids. Intensified the crease a little using a deep matte brown shade and highlighted the brow bone and inner corners using a satin peachy champagne color. I added winged eyeliner to make the look a little more dramatic and a couple of coats of mascara to the lashes. To finish off the look, I applied a raspberry shade satin liquid lipstick. I set my masterpiece using a makeup setting spray which I can swear by.

The makeup look was little dramatic, vibrant, very fresh and not the least bit cakey. One of my favorite looks that I have created so far!
