How Did Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation Work For Me?

Packaging-

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation comes in a very pretty packaging which though made out of plastic has a wooden appearance that makes it look old school and classy. I have loved the graphic designs and the pressed powder designs in their blush range that I bought earlier but compared to that, this looks chic. This foundation is a loose powder so if you don’t like powder flying around then this is not for you.

Texture & Shade-

A sifter is fixed on top of the container so every time you need some, you can use the sifter to get some of the product without spilling all of it out. But as with all loose powder, some amount will always be wasted and the sifter makes it difficult to put the excess powder back. Now coming to the product, there are 16 shades of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. For my medium yellow skin tone, I got the medium-tan sand shade which is a great shade match.

Application & Efficacy-

Tarte recommends using their Kabuki brush which costs a whopping $30 so instead, I apply it using a buffing brush like the Real Techniques Buffing Brush but I guess you can use any densely packed brush to apply it. Once applied, it stays on for a long time and doesn’t look cakey at all. While it is not suited for full coverage and is more of a light to medium coverage foundation, it is great to wear on normal days and even parties and photo shoots as it doesn’t give a whitish cast under flash.

Dupe-

Overall, if you are looking for a good high end powder foundation that will look beautiful on you and also on your vanity table, you should totally buy this one. If you are looking for something more cost efficient but still high end, then you can buy the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation ($27) which is the best dupe for the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation giving not only great coverage but also having an awesome 15g of product which is double the amount of product that we get here.

I got this powder foundation about a month back and it is the one I keep reaching for most days. It gives a very natural look to the face.
